Installation Guide

Only advanced users are recommended to perform the complex task of updating the software on their own. All other users should visit an iGO My way authorized dealer or reseller to have their devices updated for a service charge.

Steps of the Update Process

To update the iGO My way navigation software, first you need to register yourself and the product you have purchased. During registration, you will be asked to provide some personal information, your e-mail address and the license key of you iGO My way software found under the ‘About/Licenses’ menu item in the following format:

CE-0000-0000-0000-0000-0000

Important! The iGO My way license key is not on the plastic box. You can find the license key by pressing the 'About' button in the main menu, and then select 'Licenses' menu item.

User registration

1. Navigate to the User Registration page.
2. Complete the registration form and click the [Register] button.
3. After a few minutes you will receive a message to the e-mail address provided during registration. To activate your user account, click the URL link in the message.
4. Once you have successfully registered, log in with your e-mail address and password provided during registration at http://my.navngo.com. 
5. Click ‘Downloads’ on the left.

Once you have successfully registered, you will find the update packages you are entitled to under ‘Downloads’. These may include the following:

• Old Updater tool – updates your iGO 2005 to the 2006 version
• New MapLoader application – updates your 2006 version to 2006 Plus
• POI-Warner Updater – a tool installing/updating POI-Warner safety cameras

Select the update package for your product and follow steps under a), b) or c).

Important! Depending on your computer settings, Updater or MapLoader may be blocked by your firewall or anti-virus software. If so, please temporarily close the firewall or anti-virus application, or request technical help from your system administrator.

a) Updating the 2005 version using the old Updater tool

1. Make a backup copy of the SD memory card containing your iGO My way navigation software. 
2. Download the Updater tool to your computer. This will update your iGO My way software.
3. Run the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.
4. Please disable write protection on your SD memory card and insert the card in the SD card reader connected to your computer.
   or
   Connect your Pocket PC to your computer via your ActiveSync software. If you choose the latter option, please make sure that the iGO My way navigation software is currently not running on your PDA and write protection is disabled on your SD card.
5. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
6. Run the Updater software (Start > Programs > iGO My way Navigation Software > iGO My way Updater). Follow the instructions of the Updater tool.

b) Updating the 2006 version using the new MapLoader tool

1. Make a backup copy of the SD memory card containing your iGO My way navigation software.
2. Download MapLoader to your computer. This application will update your iGO My way software.
3. Unzip the downloaded ZIP file, run maploader.exe and follow the program’s instructions.
4. Enter your e-mail address and password provided during registration.
5. MapLoader connects to our server to confirm your eligibility and to update your license and the application.
6. Then a two-column map list appears in a window with one column listing the maps currently on the memory card (navigation device) and the other those stored on your computer.
7. Select the maps you would like to update/install and click the [Install] button. If there is not enough free space on the memory card or on the device, first you need to remove a few maps using the tool.

c) Installing Safety Cameras using the POI-Warner Updater tool

1. Update your iGO My way navigation software to version 2006 Plus (follow steps under a) or b) above).
2. Follow the steps in the POI-Warner Updater guide.
